Founded in 2002 by Larry Lane, LSI Flooring is a family-run company with roots that stretch back four generations in the flooring industry. The Lane family’s longstanding legacy in carpet and rug padding continues today, though LSI is a separate entity from the original family business.

Larry's career began in 1983 representing and selling carpet and rug padding. Later, Larry joined The Rug Hold Company as partner and Executive Vice President. There, he helped pioneer non-slip rug padding in the U.S. and introduced the first all-natural rug pad product, which gained worldwide distribution. The Rug Hold Company was later acquired by Vantage Industries, now part of Leggett & Platt.

Since its founding, LSI Flooring has represented leading padding manufacturers while building its own identity. In 2022, LSI acquired Daltonian Flooring’s padding division, carrying forward a respected line of high-density urethane carpet and rug cushions. In 2024, this line was rebranded as UnSquashable™ Padding to emphasize its resilience and long-term performance. By 2025, LSI further expanded its offerings with new synthetic felt pads featuring moisture barriers, pet-protective features, and outdoor non-slip padding solutions.
